Negros Occidental District Youth Day

Good habits formed at youth make all the difference. Negros Occidental held a three-day district youth day at Tagle Beach Resort last June 15-17, 2018 with the theme: Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are household of faith. – Galatians 6:10.
The event was participated by numbers of youths coming from different congregations. Everyone is excited not only to participate the activities but also for the visit of beloved District Apostle Urs Hebeisen.

District Apostle and his company arrived on June 15 and conducted a divine service in Mansilingan Bacolod City together with Apostle Beli-ot and his wife. On the other hand, youths enjoyed getting along with brothers and sisters, knowing each other and participating Bible games.

Youths’ first night at the beach was remarkable. Youths from different congregations showcased their talents and performed an exotic performance. Some of them strum guitars while others were singing in the midst of the night. Everyone was amazed by each presentation.

The bell rung at exactly 4 o’clock in the morning. When the bell rings, it means that you were called. Youths woke up with thanksgiving to Heavenly Father and started the day with devotional and reflection.
Everyone was able to share thoughts and inspiration experiences that made some tears to fall. Out of the activity, youths knew some experiences that motivated them and help them grow with love, perseverance and humility.

Outdoor activities were awaited by everyone. Second day of the youth day was full of joy and fun. Everybody enjoyed the games such as ball and tie, rope relay and pass on the arms. Youths felt the heat of the sun while enjoying the games. Twas a terrific team building activities wherein youths were able to bond with each other, build relationships not in a competive way but in a friendship way.

In the afternoon, Sister Ginalyn Mosura, conducted workshop to all Sunday school teachers. While workshop was ongoing, District Apostle conducted a divine service in Calumpang congregation and celebrated the 100 years of existence of the retired Priest Ismael Tamarong.

After that, District Apostle and District Apostle Helper Edy Isnugroho and some other Apostles of Philippines went to Tagle Beach Resort and warmly welcomed by everyone with the Patik Kawayan group. Large bombastic sounds of drums, bamboo tubes and other native instruments made the visitors more amazed.

There were also choir and orchestra presentation, a slide show tribute to District Apostle and finale presentation with the choir. District Apostle distributed the Cebuano Q&A catechism and the latest community magazine. District Apostle also shared some points that someone asked him if what does he feel about his retirement. He said, it is not joy or sad feeling to retire. It is just a beautiful thing to retire showing God’s work will ever stop and always continue. What is important is that we remain faithful. Program at night ended with great joy to everyone.

June 17, was the last day of the youth day. 8 o’clock in the morning youth checked out from the resort and went to Tiling Central Church. Sunday service was taken from the quotations of the Lord’s Prayer. “Your Kingdom come, your will be done…” Matthew 6:10. District Apostle elaborated God wants us to be saved and be His bride, therefore we should abide His will. God’s will shall be our will.

We went home with full of joy, lessons that help us grow spiritually and warm fellowship with everyone.
